Features

This Nelson 38 is a well-constructed boat in GRP with external mahogany 'badging' and extruded rubber fendering at the spray rail and gunwale levels, including diagonals in between. Her bow is protected by a stainless steel plate that extends above and below the waterline. A stainless steel pulpit rail is supported by a safety wire on S/S stanchions. Attached to the transom is a large S/S and teak boarding platform in good condition.

The aft deck consists of a helmsman's seat and steering controls, the instrument panel includes throttle/gear controls, engine tachometer, oil pressure and engine temperature gauges, voltmeter, chart plotter, compass, rudder control joystick. A well-mounted aluminium mast carries antennas, GPS, radar, signal light, searchlight plug, etc.

The interior is finished in mahogany veneer with a light holly stripe, six berths consisting of single and pull-out berths; Curtains are fitted on all windows, all in good condition. Cushions in nearly new condition. The galley is equipped with a gas stove, oven and hob, built-in refrigerator, sink, and plenty of storage. Toilets A 24v Lavac unit is installed with both electric and manual discharge either overboard or to a holding tank of about 60 gallons, a pressurised hot and cold water system with sink and shower.

Engine Room Twin Caterpillar 3116TA-350 hp diesel engines are very capable of handling all kinds of weather, both coastal and offshore, in this extremely solidly built boat, a very seaworthy vessel. A fuel storage system for long-distance trips of 165 gallons in the main center tank as well as wing tanks of 66 gallons each and port and starboard aft tanks of 50 gallons each.
